Monica Ball has been a residential real estate agent and member of the California Association of Realtors® and the San Diego Association of Realtors® since 2005, winning Rookie of the Year that year for Prudential California’s San Diego Region. Ms. Ball is currently with AARE, though her license has been on referral status since 2015 so she can focus on answers for the west coast homeless crisis and housing shortage. Promoting innovative housing typologies and streamlining buildability top her current list of priorities.

In 2017, Ms. Ball participated as a member of Urban Land Institute (ULI) with American Institute of Architects (AIA) on the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) “Housing the Next One Million” project. This led to her engagement as a Co-founder of YIGBY – Yes In God’s Back Yard – Faith Community Housing initiative.

Prior to real estate, she managed with Nordstrom in the Men’s Division for multiple San Diego stores in the 1980’s and worked as an Account Manager for Clear Channel Broadcast, now iHeart Media, in the 1990’s. Ms. Ball has worked with the San Diego homeless population since joining the Urban People Living In Faith & Trust (UPLIFT) Board in 2002. She was selected to be a member of the 25 Cities Design Team for the HUD/VA national homeless veterans housing effort in 2014, is a current Board President of UPLIFT San Diego, an active member of the Regional Task Force on the Homeless (RTFH), she serves as Lead for Rock Church Homeless Ministry and sits on the Rock Church Business Ministry Advisory Committee. Ms. Ball also served as the Social Issues Chairperson for the Downtown Community Planning Council (DCPC) from 2011 – 18, has been a Downtown Kiwanis Club Member since 2004, served as Kiwanis Foundation President in 2009 and currently serves on the San Diego Downtown Partnership Policy Advisory Committee. Monica enjoys spending time with her family including 5 Grandchildren.
