La Jolla

The jewel of San Diego, La Jolla, is an affluent, hilly seaside resort community of over 40,000 residents, occupying 7 miles of curving coastline along the Pacific Ocean within the city limits of San Diego.

La Jolla boasts some of the most magnificent coastline that southern California has to offer. Torrey Pines State Reserve on the north side of La Jolla is one of the largest ocean side reserves on the California coast and features takeoff sites for hang gliders. Torrey Pines State Reserve on top of the steep cliffs is a wonderful scenic area for hikes, bird-watching, and taking in ocean vistas and sunsets. La Jolla features beautiful beaches, secluded coves, and the gorgeous cliff-top promenade. Quaint cafes, upscale boutiques, and fine dining fill the pedestrian-focused “Village.” La Jolla is also an art lover’s paradise. In addition to numerous art galleries, nearby attractions include the Museum of Contemporary Art on Prospect Street, a few blocks south of the Village on the cliffs overlooking the ocean, and the La Jolla Playhouse.

La Jolla is home to nationally recognized University of California San Diego (UCSD), the Salk Institute and prestigious Scripps Institution of Oceanography. La Jolla also has some of the best public and private schools in the state, including The Preuss School UCSD, La Jolla High School, Bishops, and La Jolla Country Day.

La Jolla’s natural beauty, near perfect weather, and upscale image attract home buyers from all over the world. Each exclusive neighborhood in La Jolla has its own unique charm- La Jolla Farms, La Jolla Shores, La Jolla Heights, La Jolla Village, Hidden Valley, Country Club, Village, Beach Barber Tract, Muirlands, Soledad South, La Jolla Alt a, La Jolla Mesa, Bird Rock, Lower Hermosa, and Upper Hermosa. Located just 15 minutes northwest of San Diego, La Jolla is popular with young & old, and with singles, couples and families alike.
