Solana Beach

What the delightful, seaside community of Solana Beach (population of 13,700 and land of 3.5 square miles) lacks in size, it more than makes up for in charm.

Bordered by Del Mar to the south, Rancho Santa Fe to the east, Encinitas to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the west, Solana Beach is easily accessible from Interstate 5, Highway 101 and the train. Solana Beach offers fabulous beaches, eclectic shops, wonderful dining options & fun nightlife. Popular attractions include Fletcher Cove, Tide Beach Park and Cedros Design District. Just a block from restaurants and shops, Fletcher Cove is a small beach with a park that overlooks the ocean. Tide Beach Park is popular for snorkeling and tide pool exploration. Much of Solana Beach’s coastline is made up of steep cliffs with staircases to the beaches below.

In 2003, Solana Beach made national news upon becoming the first city in the continental US to enact a smoking ban on its public beaches, a trend which has continued on to the beaches of many other coastal towns in California. Solana Beach offers much more than just fun in the sun. The Cedros Design District is home to antique shops, boutiques, art galleries, and great restaurants. After dark, it is time to enjoy the entertainment at the Belly Up Tavern, a popular live music venue featuring local and national talent.
